Microsoft (NSDQ: MSFT) appears ready to take more of its Zune services outside the U.S. for the first time, using Windows Phone 7 as a beachhead.
One observer found this site in the UK inviting entries for all Microsoft-you-can-eat Zune Pass music service unlimited streaming and download at a price of £ 8.99 per month or £ 26 97 for three months .
When asked, Microsoft says PaidContent: UK does not send the HD Media Player Zune outside the U.S., but because cell phones coming Windows 7 software required for PC synchronization Zune music, videos, podcasts, photos and apps, it has given “preview” access, to a “limited Zune Marketplace catalogue”, to app developers.
It’s likely there where the observer’s screengrab came from. But don’t rule out a full global Zune Marketplace/Zune Pass launch when Windows Phone 7 handsets start shipping. Microsoft tells us: “We will be sharing more details on the Zune service later this summer.”
Thus, Zune, as promised, you join a brand content platform from Microsoft.
Although the device is not available outside the United States and Canada, the Zune is already present in other places – Microsoft has renamed its Xbox Live Video Marketplace movie “Zune Marketplace” last year. In music, although the video clips are provided by MSN Xbox VidZone and the United Kingdom has recently launched its own music download service.

Zune getting a price cut again.
Well, you’ve found lower prices at Wal-Mart. At that time, customers can get the Zune 16 GB HD for about $ 162.54. Just to keep it in perspective, regularly sold at a price of $ 199.
We believe that would make it less than the price of an iPod Touch with an equal amount of memory. I wonder if Apple will lower its prices to follow suit.

While Apple’s IPAD skyward friendly in Australia, Microsoft is installed in a wider support.
United Airlines is the organization of flying experience with the addition of service on board Zune Radio Times lists 21 new opportunities to profit.
The audio content will be free, but keep in mind that the Zune service will be in the form of a single radio station. No hunting around the middle seat in search of a real Zune player (pictured above).
It seems like a simple enough partnership, but maybe it will lead to some more tech-friendly enhancements down the line – like expanding in-flight Wi-Fi to all domestic flights instead of just a few select routes.

Olga Kharif at Bloomberg is reporting on an interview with Zune senior product manager Terry Farrell, where Farrell indicated a major price cut for the Zune Pass may be seen soon.
Zune Pass currently costs $ 14.99 per month, and even if Apple did not respond directly to her, RealNetworks Inc. ’s Rhapsody service is similar cut the monthly price of $ 10 to $ 14.99 last April. Farrell did not say how much the price would fall Zune Pass, but one can assume that Rhapsody will fall to $ 10 or less.
So it does show a continuation of life for the Zune music player, despite only 2% of the activity of portable music players? I tend to doubt it. Instead, it seems to me that Microsoft continues to prime the pump for Windows 7 Phone. We know that Zune software will be an integral part of your new operating system from Redmond, then drop the price a few Zune has clear advantages over iTunes would make sense.
Still, for those of us addicted to using SmartDJ with a Zune Pass, this news is music to our ears. If you can’t be competitive, at least you can be cheap. It also comes on the heels of Alex Reeve of the UK MObile Group saying that the release of Windows Phone 7 will FINALLY bring the Zune Marketplace to the UK, I assume with Zune Pass in tow. Now, if you put the software on Mac and Linux, we will be truly mobile.

A Microsoft employee recently lost a top secret prototype of the next generation Zune MP3 player when he inadvertently left in a bar in Redmond. The person who found the prototype Zune tried to sell to the highest bidder, but was repeatedly rejected the idea. We thought at first reluctant to do the operation after the iPhone 4G fiasco last month which saw the home of a journalist assaulted by police, even after the prototype had already been voluntarily returned to Apple. However, further investigation revealed that none of the publications found fifty dollars was to seek asylum for the prototype Zune price be worth the cost.
“We’re not going to pay fifty bucks to bring in an extra twenty-seven page views,” said the publisher of one prominent tech blog, “particularly since seventeen of them will come from Steve Ballmer’s desk.” The publisher then went on to explain that the Microsoft CEO’s interest in the new Zune model would be less likely to come out of outrage over the lost prototype, but instead more likely because Ballmer himself probably hasn’t yet gotten around to taking a look at the low priority Zune in-house.
However, the publisher has admitted that he briefly considered “one of those stickers to put the Apple logo on the back” and try to get readers to be the new iPod touch.
Under pressure, none of the journalists in question could not remember the number of the next generation of Zune, or whatever the current generation it seems.

The support from Microsoft for the Zune device HD as a game of chance has been quite catastrophic. Fortunately there are hackers, one of which has the beginnings of a serviceable Game Boy Advance emulator working on the device.
I bought a Zune HD from the first week the system was available, after that my brother has spent considerable time showing how the screen is beautiful and fluid displaced from the menu. I justified the purchase, saying she would not play for the Microsoft platform, and has a pair. In November last year, a handful of new titles were published, including some very promising, but ultimately, it is not really a system of play Just do not say piracy.
Yes, the Zune and HD is broken BackAtIt ZuneBoards user is working hard to improve Visual Boy Zune, port of the famous Game Boy emulator Visual Boy Advance. The current version covers only the Game Boy, Game Boy Advance titles, not stand the sound, and needs a lot to adapt the code before it is nowhere near fully functional. Still, it’s nice to see the homebrew scene working to turn the Zune HD into a much more useful device – a Game Boy Micro.

Zune HD users to play pirated games version, Visual Boy Zune, it is now easier than ever to play classic games for Game Boy users directly Portable Media Player.
Visual Boy Zune is capable of playing GameBoy Color ROMs and is created from the same VisualBoyAdvance code that has worked with the handheld’s games since 2004.
Note that the device is still in beta, which means many changes are still needed, however, the latest update has made the saved state emulation and ROM selector, there is unfortunately no audio output.
BackAtIt also said many of the emulator code of origin should also be rewritten to support the Zune HD Tegra architecture.

Welcome to our new front in the long term, where we pit two Web services, applications or widgets against each other in a knockdown, drag-and-fight for the hearts and minds of readers Mashable. We had some heated confrontations here lately, from the not-even-out-yet next-gen iPhone beating out the Droid Incredible to Apple iBooks besting the Amazon Kindle.
This week is yet another mobile device in head to head, and this time we turn our attention to the music players. Again, Apple has had some mindshare dominance with the iPod / iPhone and iTunes ecosystem. However, Microsoft could be considered as having its own very strong competitor in the space with the Zune MP3 player HD. In combination with the Zune Pass service – a subscription offering that Apple has not so far, the Zune HD is some tasty hardware that makes a great portable all-you-can-eat buffet for music lovers.
So let’s put the Zune HD up against its arch-nemesis the iPod touch to see what Mashable drives is the best portable music player of the two.

The pressure on the forthcoming Windows 7 Phone to offer a breakthrough for Microsoft mobile mounted, the company showed a decline in sales of its current operating system smartphone, Windows Mobile. Sales of its Zune media players also missed its third fiscal quarter, justifying the decision to extend the Zune platform for devices that are not specific, especially the new phones Kin.
Under the announcement of the third quarter, Microsoft reported revenues of its mobile entertainment division – with the exception of the platform Xbox – has been reduced by $ 80 million. Windows Mobile has lost more than 20% of their market share of smartphones in the past four months, according to estimates from comScore, the predator with Android. United States – The best market for both operating systems due to weak market leader Symbian – WinMo study says only 15.1%, while Android has doubled its share of one year, at 9 %, and is sure to touch double digit very soon.
Microsoft Entertainment and Devices Division is minor in society as a whole, with only the online services is smaller. Its sales were $ 1.67bn for the quarter ended March 31, 11.5% of the total group of 14.5 billion dollars. In profit terms, it has been an even smaller contributor, though this quarter did see the unit reversing last year’s $67m loss and making a profit of $138m, with Xbox the biggest driver. Microsoft’s total profit for the period was $4.01bn. A year ago it made $2.97bn on sales of $13.65bn.
